I'm generally an old fashioned "Guitar-chord-amp"
kinda guy too. But I found magic in using
a Boss SE-50 stereo effects processor. Damned thing's made for mix-down, but I read an interview with a player in the early ninties
who recommended it as a guitar effect, so I gave it a shot (I'll try anything once) and it brought some tones out that were so sweet, that I've used it ever since. Programmed right, you can get rid of that tinny digital sound. (You know the kind that some clown has spent $15,000 on a space ship
of an effects rack to get?)
Probably the only effect box that I've ever really liked!
